My School Supplies | Back to School

Saturday 5 September 2015

I promised myself I wouldn't start this post saying the terrible " It's that time of year again!" but I really don't know how else to word it. I know for most of us, going back to school is no joyous occasion, it's actually quite horrible. I haven't been able to sleep the past week thinking about it. This year is going to be especially difficult, I'm entering my senior year and that means university applications. But that's the last thing I want to write about today. Let's talk about the one okay thing about September - school supplies. I'm one of those weird people who just love school supplies. I love new notebooks and binders and pencils and pens. It's the one thing that makes this month bearable. Maybe this post will give you some ideas for your own supplies but if not you can just enjoy looking at all of the pretty things :)

Backpack : Chapters Indigo
Isn't this backpack so cool? I've had my eye on this one for a while now but thought it was silly to buy a new one when my old one was still going strong. But then an act of fate occurred - my pen exploded in my backpack and went everywhere. The ink actually went through to the front of my backpack.  So long story short, I have this gorgeous looking backpack now. What's cool about this though is that a portion of the sale goes towards RCAF Veteran and Canadian DND aviation related initiatives. So its a win-win!

Planner: Chapters Indigo
This planner makes me super happy. I mean, who doesn't want a planner that has cute little lyrics/quotes in it. I really love all the scenic photos, it'll kinda make me feel less miserable when I'm stuck in a school. It'll remind me theres more out there to work for than just a grade.

Pencil Case : Staples

Now the pen that destroyed my backpack also destroyed my pencil case. Funny how something so small could do so much damage. I picked this one because it's not only adorable but it also helps other students in places where school and school supplies are far less accessible. For example buying this pencil case meant that a child overseas in need got three pencils for school.

Binders : Staples    Paper : Home Sense
A lot of the classes I'm taking don't actually need a binder so I only needed four. I got them all in white because it seemed bright and cheery and then added some pretty scrapbook paper to the covers to make them prettier but also easier to distinguish. I also added some Martha Stewart labels to the covers so I could write the subject on them as well.

Notebooks : Staples
My notebooks might be one of the best things I'm bringing with me to school. I decided to go for the five subject notebooks instead of a notebook for each subject because I thought it would be easier to just carry one big one with me everywhere I go instead of a bunch of tiny ones. I got two just incase I need another for second term. I decorated the covers ( of course) with some stickers. The blue one is space themed and the white one has stickers of unicorns, horses and pegai. I really love anything whimsical and dreamy because it's such an escape from reality.

Everything Pictured : Staples
I didn't really need too many new pens and things so I just got a value pack of blue pens and some
mechanical and regular pencils. I needed new white-out, glue, and erasers as well as some new highlighters. These highlighters are kind of cool because they're double sided with the normal yellow on one side and another colour on the other. I also decided to bring my own mini stapler to school this year because the ones at school never really work and in the rare case they do,  you always have to wait to use it.

And lastly I decided to make my locker the best it could be this year. I found this handy locker kit that comes with a white board, cork board, calendar and lock.  I also got these adorable little star magnets to put things up in my locker with. And then the nerdiest of all, my locker mat. I really can't be the only one that hates the rusty, dirty bottom of lockers. It always makes my things dirty so yes, I got this amazing locker mat to put in my locker so my stuff can stay clean.

And that's everything! Whether you're just going back to school like I am or you're already there, I hope your school year goes well. Enjoy being with friends and soak up all the cool things you're going to learn!

  2. Todos os itens são lindos, mas o que eu amei foi a mochila. Muito perfeita, e o estojo também.
